Privacy policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
Introduction
FishList ("we", "us") operates a web application and related services that help anglers record locations, catches, and community activity. This policy explains what personal information we process, why, and the choices available to you.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
Account and profile: username, account identifiers, and optional profile photo metadata when you upload an image.
Content you submit: fishing locations, coordinates, catch details, photos, comments, likes, and friend connections.
Authentication: when you sign in with Google, we receive tokens and profile identifiers from Google according to your Google account settings and their policies.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device or app version, and similar diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
We use this information to provide core features (maps, feed, profiles, moderation), to maintain security and prevent abuse, to improve reliability and performance, and to communicate service-related notices when appropriate.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train generalized public machine-learning models except as described in product features you explicitly use (for example, optional fish-identification tools, if offered).
Sharing, subprocessors, and public content
We share data with infrastructure and authentication providers (for example, hosting, storage, sign-in) strictly as needed to run the service. Some content you post (such as catches in community feeds) is visible to other users by design.
Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be used to understand usage trends. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed for backups, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and legitimate business operations. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards; no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices and contact
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us through the channels published with the service to exercise these rights or ask questions.
You may delete content you control where the product allows it, and you can stop using the service at any time.
